🚨 2012 NYE POST: 🚨

2012 was a wonderland of risks & exquisite change. Risks that changed the course of my life. Risks that landed me at the Olympics, in a new career, traveling the world, conquering races I never fathomed, realizing dreams I never knew.

2013 holds all that you can imagine. Take risks. You’ll rise like a Phoenix. And it will be magnificent. 🤩

Creating yourself does not involve isolated New Year’s Resolutions without a game plan. Be more than just talk!

6 Goal Setting Tips for Creating Yourself:

1️⃣ You are the CEO of your body. You create it, run it, & nourish it. Create a mission statement. Short term (3 months) & long term (1 year or more) from now. What EXACTLY do you want to accomplish?
2️⃣ Think SMART: Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Realistic & Timely. “Getting fit” is not as helpful as mastering inversions in yoga or going to kickboxing twice a week for 4 weeks. BY what magnitude do you want to get stronger, faster, happier? How much weight do you want to lose and by when? Incorporate this into your mission statement.
3️⃣ Passion drives progress and the goal informs the content. What is your PASSION? Let it lead you. It can come from anywhere, but it has to be YOURS. If you establish WHY, the HOW will follow. Think about what excites you. If you’ve always wanted to learn to salsa or slaughter a mud run, think about the specific workouts and steps that will get you there.
4️⃣ TELL someone. Your friend, your boss, all of Instagram. It helps keep you accountable, allows people to encourage you, and might connect you with others who have similar goals. POST IT. Make it known.
5️⃣ Make calendar appointments. The CEO doesn’t cancel. Do you function better in the morning? Do you work better as part of a team? Remove the obstacles. Lay out your clothes the night before or join the gym that’s on your way home.
6️⃣ Progress is not linear. It’s circuitous. Celebrate tiny victories. You are ONE of ONE & that is pretty damn awesome. 🙌🏽
Screw New Year’s Resolutions that you know you’re not going to keep. Instead, step up to being the CEO of your BODY for 365, little by little. Showing up for the strongest version of yourself is the ultimate lifetime resolution.
